FILM 1

The two short sections of 8mm film on this and Film 2 were shot in as a 1965 by John Knowles while he was enhancing his pottery skills working at Stalham as a student/assistant. Tom’s wife Polly makes an appearance restocking the showroom.

The footage shows Tom throwing some large pots. He is using an electric wheel for the initial moves that require strength and power, then transferring to the Saviac geared kick wheel for the slower finishing touches.
